"Accessibility Planning"

Our May meeting will feature a presentation by Mike O'Hare of RatioDesign. The meeting will be 6:30pm on Thursday, May 17th at the Elmwood Community Center in West Hartford.

Please note that while the address says New Britain Avenue, you must enter the center via South Quaker Lane and Burgoyne Street.

UPDATE: We will be in room 29 on the second floor.

Overview: Accessibility Planning

New legislation (and legal action), competition in government and education markets, and a growing elderly and disabled population are among the reasons many companies are beginning to view accessibility as a strategy.  Developing an accessible technology plan may be one of the best decisions your organization can make this year.

The May 17th discussion, led by Mike O'Hare, will focus on the business and technical issues organizations face when assessing the need for accessibility.

About Michael O'Hare, Director, Ratio Design

Mike has been designing, developing, and testing products for accessibility and usability for over twenty years. He is a consultant to the American Foundation for the Blind and has presented to the United States Access Board and at the International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference.
